Hi  LSClubbers

It’s been four VERY long months since President Ramaphosa announced that South Africa would go into a full Level-5 lockdown on 26 March.

The global pandemic has impacted every aspect of our lives. For many of us, a member of our immediate or extended family, and/or someone in our close circle of friends, has contracted the virus.

Covid 19 Update

Hi LSCclubbers I’m sure I’m not alone in being immensely proud of our President last night. No doubt sleep-deprived and with the weight of our nation on his shoulders and conscience, he delivered his address with such amazing clarity, calmness and sincerity. We are blessed to have such a decisive and compassionate leader at this turbulent time in our democracy. In adherence to our President’s directive last night for a national 21-day lockdown, our club and all its facilities will be closed from midnight on Thursday 26th March until Friday 17th April.

Hi LSClubbers

Welcome to 2020!

Here’s wishing you and your families a very Happy New Year. May it be a blessed one for all of us!

I know many of you are still on vacation (as am I), but there are a few quickies I need to convey to all of you, before the rat race gets back in earnest next week.

Please take note of a very important action/request below application to ALL LSC members, regarding re-validating your access key tag (fob) numbers.

Hi LSClubbers
This will (hopefully) be a “quickie” edition (unlike my usual “war-and-piece” epic newsletters), to bring the LSC curtain down on 2019.
I know, I know… I can hear your deafening groans of disappointment all the way from Lagos - which is where I find myself this week. The traffic is mayhem, but at least they have power here!

Annual Squash Awards

I am extremely proud and humbled to let you all know that Llandudno Sports Club picked up 6 awards at last night’s WP Squash Annual Awards Ceremony.

It was an glitzy evening much akin to the Oscars - the red carpet was rolled out at Pigalle, the ladies were dolled up in spunky evening dresses and the men were looking dapper and suave in formal collar and tie.

Tennis Court Lights Rules

Hi LSClubbers

It with great pride and pleasure that I can confirm that the project to install the floodlights on our lower tennis court has been completed.

Results from LSC Tennis Club Champs Finals Day

We finally got some “strawberries and cream” weather today to hold our 2012 LSC Tennis Club Champs Finals Day, and the action on court was just as spectacular as the stunning Llandudno views under clear blue skies and blazing hot sunshine.

Well done to all our finalists, and congrats to our Champions.

CUP Competition:

Michelle Dutton successfully defended her Ladies Singles title, defeating Tracy Morris 2-0.

Tennis

Welcome to the Tennis Section.

We have an active tennis section which is growing by leaps and bounds!!  Having recently upgraded all of our courts and installing lights on the lower courts, we have raised the level of our tennis from social to active.  As part of Western Province Tennis, we participate in the league.

Squash

Welcome to the squash section.

Our club has a thriving squash section with a large proportion of the members having joined with the intention of playing squash.  We actively participate in the Western Province Squash league with teams in the 3rd, 8th and 17th leagues as well as masters teams - so there is a place for everyone.
